Resolution on the establishment of electoral districts of second level in the territorial-administrative units of the Republic of Moldova
Chisinau, 26 March 2003


The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova scheduled the date of the general local elections on 25 May 2003 through Decision no. 128-XV of 20 March 2003.

According to Article 27 of the Electoral Code, the Central Electoral Commission decides:

  1. The following electoral districts of second level for the general local elections of 25 May 2003 are established:

    • Municipal Electoral District Chisinau, no. 1
    • Municipal Electoral District Balti, no. 2
    • Municipal Electoral District Bender, no. 3
    • Raion1 Electoral District Anenii Noi, no. 4
    • Raion Electoral District Basarabeasca, no. 5
    • Raion Electoral District Briceni, no. 6
    • Raion Electoral District Cahul, no. 7
    • Raion Electoral District Cantemir, no. 8
    • Raion Electoral District Calarasi, no. 9
    • Raion Electoral District Causeni, no. 10
    • Raion Electoral District Cimislia, no. 11
    • Raion Electoral District Criuleni, no. 12
    • Raion Electoral District Donduseni, no. 13
    • Raion Electoral District Drochia, no. 14
    • Raion Electoral District Dubasari, no. 15

    • The Electoral District of the Territorial Autonomous Unit Gagauzia, no. 36
    • The Electoral District for the settlements from he left bank of Dniestr River, no. 37

  2. The electoral districts of the Balti and Bender municipalities include first tier territorial-administrative units, but have equal status with the electoral districts of second tier territorial-administrative units

  3. The boundaries of electoral districts are the boundaries of the territorial-administrative units as provided in Law no. 764-XV of 27 December 2001 on the Territorial-administrative Organisation of the Republic of Moldova.
